Last year we updated our website outlining new training information for all school volunteers. Volunteers are highly valued at St Mary's and your role in helping at school is a very critical one in the education of our learners. The students benefit enormously, the staff appreciate and value your contributions and we commend the many skills and incredible energy you give to us as a volunteer. Each time you visit St Mary's as a volunteer, you are required to sign in at the front office. A sign in/out book is located in the front foyer of the Office, along with volunteer labels. Recently, in responding to the Queensland Legislative requirements regarding Student Protection and Volunteer Training, Brisbane Catholic Education requires that all volunteers (parents, grandparents, etc.) complete an online Student Protection and Parent Code of Conduct Course. It takes about 30 minutes online to complete and when finalised you are asked to print out the Completion Form and send it to the school. It supersedes any previous training or forms and needs to be completed for you to assist us in any way – swimming, Tuckshop, classroom assistance etc. If you have previously completed the training, we are asking that you complete the updated training package as soon as possible. You are also required to hold a current Volunteer Blue Card – forms can be collected for the office to be completed. .
To locate the online Student Protection and Parent Code of Conduct Course visit the
Parent Participation section (under ABOUT US) of this website.
Importantly, please remember to send the completed form to school as soon as it is finalised. Thank you in anticipation of your support with this.
