On Tuesday the St Mary’s Senior Swimming Carnival took place, and what a terrific day it
was! The students are to be commended for their participation, effort and outstanding
sportsmanship! They all swam brilliantly, and should be extremely proud!
There are many people to thank for their contributions to our wonderful carnival:
Thank you to the McAuley College students who came to help with timekeeping duties.
Thank you to the Beaudesert Swimming Club for the use of their equipment. Thank you
to Mrs Susan Shay for helping with the program and Mrs Nikki Blyton for running the
computer on the day. Thank you Mrs Melissa Cahill for being Chief Timekeeper, and
Constable Noel Kerger for starting the races.
Thank you Mrs Walsh for taking wonderful photos and for helping our students to cross
the road safely.
A huge thank you to the staff of St Mary’s who willingly performed the tasks that were
designated to them. Without their amazing efforts this carnival would not be the success
that it is.
Thanks also goes to Beaudesert Pool and to the swimming instructors who worked to
prepare the students in lessons, and helped with judging and supporting our students
yesterday at the carnival.
The competition was extremely close. Overall, McAuley claimed victory!!
