Bishop's Visit

We are very excited to welcome Bishop Ken Howell to our St. Mary’s community next week. He will be joining us for School Mass on Friday 23rd August at 9:00am (led by 4 Blue), and then take a tour of the school where he will visit classes and enjoy our sacred spaces and beautiful play areas. At 10.40am, our whole school will come together for a picnic morning tea (students bring their lunch boxes with them), in the courtyard area between the Office and Church. We love these special occasions and feel blessed that Bishop Ken will be with us, and we would welcome any families that would like to join us.

On the evening of Friday 23rd August at 6:00pm, many children in our community will be confirmed, in a ceremony led by Bishop Ken at St. Mary’s Church. The Sacrament of Confirmation is the second of the three sacraments of Christian initiation. Confirmation consists of the renewal of baptismal promises and the laying of hands and anointing with the oil of Chrism. Our Year 3 classes have been learning about the significance and meaning of this sacrament in their Religion lessons this term. Please keep these students in your prayers at this very significant time in their faith journey.
