Academic Assembly

On Thursday, we gather together as our St Mary’s community to Belong, Grow, and Serve in Christ at our Academic Awards.

We notified recipients’ parents and guardians that we look forward to celebrating learning growth, achievements, Arts, and school spirit.

Prep-Year 2 will be awarded medallions in the categories of academic progression and encouragement. These awards recognise substantial progress and conscientious efforts across all subject areas. In Years 3- 6, the Academic Achievement Award goes to students with the highest results across all subject areas. The Academic Encouragement Award is for students who have made significant progress with their learning, displaying conscientious effort and application.

Each class from every year level will have a candidate for the School Spirit Award. Children who receive this award are actively involved in all dimensions of school life. Their behaviour in the classroom and playground reflects the Mercy charism of Service to Others.

Finally, Mrs. Bennett chooses a student from each class worthy of an Arts Award. They have shown talent, enthusiasm and participated actively in all aspects of this subject.

At the end of our assembly, our former principal Sr Catherina presents a Mercy Medal awarded to one exceptional student. The Mercy Medal goes to a student who displays the qualities of Catherine McAuley. They are a student who is welcoming, just, prayerful, practical. They have vision, show courage, compassion, and are practical, and always offer service to others.

We will recognise and congratulate our Year 6 leaders for 2022 as we present them to our community.
